Keiichi Aritomo is Executive Director of FinCity.Tokyo which is to continuously promote Tokyo as a leading global financial city. Keiichi is also a co-founder and Board Director of JIAM (the Consortium for Japan International Asset Management Center). Keiichi Chairman of the World Alliance of International FInancial Centers (WAIFC), a consortium of 20+ financial centers across the world headquartered in Brussels.
He is also a founder and Chairman of Jazz EMP (Emerging Musicians Program) @ Tokyo Financial Street.
Prior to his current roles, Keiichi was Asia Head of Kensho Technologies, LLC, a leading financial AI solution provider, acquired by S&P for $550M in 2018. Keiichi used to be a Partner at McKinsey & Company and Deloitte, where he specialized in financial services industry and technology strategies across North America, Europe, Southeast Asia and Japan.
Keiichi obtained his master’s degree in engineering from Nagoya Institute of Technology, majoring in urban and transportation engineering. He also holds an MBA from the University of Warwick in the UK. He is a certified public accountant in the US.
Sadayuki Horie is a representative director of Horie Research & Advisory, a non-executive director of Mitsubishi UFJ Asset Management and lecturer at Toyo University.
Mr. Horie is a graduate of the Kobe University of Commerce. In 1986, he developed the Nomura BPI, which is now the industry standard. During 1986-88, he developed exotic option and other quantitative models in the New York office. From 1996 to 2001, he was the head of the quantitative group of Nomura Asset Management, managing over $1bn through GTAA & currency funds. From 2001 to 2017, he worked on pension fund consulting and advanced asset management research. From 2017 to 2022, he was the full-time governor and auditor of GPIF. Mr. Horie has written many articles in the Security Analysts Journal and other journals for the last 43 years.
Hiroshi Nakaso was appointed FCT’s first Chairman at its inception in April 2019. He is known widely both locally and globally as the former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Japan (BOJ) which he served for nearly 40 years. At BOJ he was mainly responsible for crisis management of financial systems and markets, often in concert with his overseas counterparts.
In addition to his present role as Chairman of Daiwa Institute of Research (DIR), he is one of the ABAC (APEC Business Advisory Council) members representing Japan, Chairman of the Policy Evaluation Committee of Financial Services Agency of Japan (FSA) and Chairman of the Monitoring Committee for the newly created JPY10 trillion university endowment fund. He also chaired the expert panel for the creation of “Global Financial City: Vision 2.0” for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
Mr. Ishida advises on the Emerging Manager program which Fincity.Tokyo plans to lauch in year 2023. He brings his 15 year experience as investment officer of Osaka Gas Corporate Pension Fund, where he implemented endowment-style portfolio strategy, producing 4.3% per annum for the 15 years ending March 2015.
He holds BA in political science from University of Tokyo, MBA from Stanford Business School and Ph.D. in Management Science from Kyoto University. After taking an early retirement from Osaka Gas in 2016, he held a number of research positions at Research Institute of Capital Formation of DBJ and at FSA institute in addition to running his own advisory company. In 2021, he joined Rheos Capitalworks as director of Financial Inclusion.
Mathieu Klein became CIO of New Alpha Asset Management (Paris) following the acquisition in 2019 of Darius Capital Partners, an affiliate of Natixis IM where he was CIO & CEO. New Alpha AM builds and advises portfolios of best-in-class external managers across asset classes, from public equities to private debt, on behalf of leading institutional investors. Prior to Darius, Mathieu spent 13 years in investment banking in Paris, London, New York, and Tokyo. He was lastly responsible for the trading and distribution of international flow products in Asia for Lehman Brothers. Previously he held positions as head of trading for Lehman Brothers and CCF in Paris, as well as senior credit trader for SG Warburg and CSFB in London. He graduated with a finance degree from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.
Sam Chung is a Professor of Finance at Yonsei University’s Graduate School of Information in Seoul, Korea, where he developed and launched a graduate degree program in ‘Artificial Intelligence & Alternative Investment’ for the financial industry professionals in the country. Prior to joining Yonsei University, he spent nearly two decades at Long Island University in NY, US as a Professor of Finance (tenured since 2005) and an associate Dean of the business school. He had also served in the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association as an Academic Advisor, the Center for International Securities and Derivatives Markets (CISDM) at the University of Massachusetts as a senior research associate, and the Journal of Alternative Investments as an Editorial Board Member.
Dr. Chung has advised AIF Global (www.aifglobal.org) for many years and is currently taking a leadership role as the head of AIF APAC. He founded the Korea Alternative Investment Research Institute (KAIRI) and partnered with the Korea Financial Investment Association (KOFIA) to research various alternative investment asset classes and to educate both public and private investors. He has advised many Korean LPs including NPS, KIC, Korea-Post, and other Korean public and private asset owners. He has also advised Korea Financial Services Commission and Financial Supervisory Services regarding the Nation’s Alternative Investments regulatory policies.
Dr. Chung received a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Massachusetts- Amherst, M.S.F. from Boston College, and M.B.A. from Illinois State University.

Kirk Sims heads TRS’ Emerging Manager Program. Since being established in 2005, TRS has committed $5.9 billion to one of the largest programs of its kind. An additional $4.6 billion has been invested directly with EM Program graduates. Each graduate was selected as a result of consistent outperformance among a group of more than 218 EM managers.
Sims joined the Teacher Retirement System of Texas on March 1, 2019. Before joining Texas Teachers, he was a Senior Investment Officer for the Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois. Sims had oversight and management responsibility of TRS’s Emerging Manager Program, a $750 million evergreen pool of capital designed to identify and invest in emerging investment managers across all asset classes.
Prior, Sims worked at Prudential Retirement where he was responsible for a manager of manager’s retirement platform as well as an open architecture investment platform. He also has a background in asset management and has held various positions with both large and small asset managers.
Sims is a CFA charter holder and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard University in Washington, DC.
Kenjiro Private Office Limited is a London based single family office focusing upon liquid multi-asset class with a very long-term investment horizon. Mizuha's primary areas include fixed income and hedge fund analysis. Before joining Kenjiro, Mizuha worked at Barclays' Delta One trading desk, where he specialized in cross-asset financing strategies. Mizuha holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Liberal Studies from Waseda University and dual Master's degrees from the London School of Economics (MSc in International Political Economy) and Sciences Po Paris (MSc in International Public Management).
Ferenc Sanderson is President and Managing Member of FS Consulting. He has extensive experience in the emerging manager space across liquid and illiquid strategies. Mr. Sanderson has held senior fundraising roles for event driven, long/short equity and fixed income arbitrage managers. Previously, Mr. Sanderson was the Director of Research for Daiwa’s Alternative Investment Group in New York. He holds an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and a BSc economics degree from the LSE. He was also a Research Fellow attached to the Program on Alternative Investments with the Center for Japan & Economy at Columbia Business School.
Tomomi Suzuki is a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science and Economics, Kokushikan University, and a guest researcher at the Transnational HRM Research Institute, Waseda University. She is also a member of the press for the Japan National Press Club and a financial planner, a Jazz EMP ambassador, an ambassador for the comprehensive performing arts stage "Ichiryu Manbai A SEED," and a personal colorist.
She holds a master’s degree in Economics from Saitama University's Graduate School of Humanities & Social Sciences, Department of Economics and Management.
She is a newscaster for "Tokyo Market Wide," the first terrestrial TV program to broadcast stock market conditions and for "WORLD MARKETZ" and "Tokyo Financial Street" (STOCKVOICE TV), and appears on radio programs such as TOKYO-FM and Radio NIKKEI.
She has conducted numerous interviews with politicians, corporate executives, and market professionals in Japan and abroad.
Her major works include "The Power of Reckoning to Extend the Life of Assets" (Shasta International) and "From a Deflationary to an Inflationary Mind-set" (Shueisha).
